NPHS duo take top two awards at state science fair

When New Prague High School students Stephen Trettel and Carl Turner won first and second respectively at the 69th annual Minnesota Academy of Science State Science Fair at Crown Town Plaza in St. Paul held April 2-4 it put them in a class very few reach.
The two qualified to attend both the national and international competitions. The two will present papers on their projects at the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium in Albuquerque, NM, April 26-30. The international competition is the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Indianapolis, IN, May 7-13.
Trettel, a sophomore, is the son of Greg and Diane Trettel of rural Jordan. His project on a non-fuel propulsion system was titled Propellantless Propulsion: The Role of Drift Transport in Asymmetrical Capacitor Thrust Production.
