NRHEG ends WEM football season

NRHEG stopped WEM on four straight plays, then ran out the clock, securing a 6-0 Section 2AA Football Quarterfinal win Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the finish of a weather suspended game. Tuesday's contest was suspended with 91 seconds to play due to lightning. The Panthers punted to WEM on the first play Wednesday evening. The Bucs completed one short pass, but failed on three other attempts, and gave the ball back to NRHEG on downs. The Panthers ran out the final 40 seconds on two plays. NRHEG will play at Kenyon-Wanamingo Monday night in the Section 2AA semifinals. Blue Earth Area and Maple River will play Saturday at Mapleton in the other semifinal. WEM finishes its season 4-5.
