Election Day has come and gone, and Scott and Le Sueur county election officials reported no major problems during the 13-hour polling period on Tuesday, Nov. 4. Officials are preparing for the statewide recount in the U.S. Senate race, which gets underway November 19.
Mary Kay Kes, election supervisor for Scott County, said that voter turnout was extremely high, at record high 93.9 percent in the county before taking into account new registrations. Once you figure in the new registrations, turnout is 80.4 percent.
