Open house set for county road study
An open house is planned for today (Thursday) at the Lanesburgh Township Hall to receive public input regarding the future alignment of Le Sueur County Road 144. the open house is from 4:30-7 p.m.
The City of New Prague, Le Sueur County and Lanesburgh Township are hosting the meeting. The town hall is located at 31498 State Highway 13, between New Prague and Montgomery, north of Le Sueur County Road 28.
The county, working with the city, the township and Scott County, has been studying the future alignment of the road along the east side of New Prague, where it would connect with a future realignment of Scott County Road 15.
The area between the western city limits and Le Sueur County Road 164, which runs south from Mahowald Motors, has been designated as the study area for the future alignment. The study area extends south of the city between the current 144 and 164.
The primary objective of the study is to develop a future roadway plan that the city, township and county can use to preserve right-of-way and to construct CR 144 as the area develops.
