Parade and program honor the fallen
The men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country are not forgotten. On Monday, Memorial Day, Montgomery residents paid special tribute to remember and honor, the men and women who died fighting for the United States of America. The annual Memorial Day program began with a special Mass at Most Holy Redeemer Church, followed by the parade (pictured) and special program at the Legion.
At the program, songs were performed by Miss Czech Slovak MN Queen Bailey Gare and John Grimm. MN State Representative John Lesch gave a riveting talk on Gold Star families, the War on Terror, and the First Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment and its service in the Battle of Gettysburg, notably on the second day.
