After five months of meetings, the New Prague Area School Board heard a report from its Long Range Planning Committee during its meeting Monday, Feb. 23.
Thirty-members of the task force met on eight occasions starting in October. Three members of the group, Virginia Lucier-Hoyt, Mark Rezac and Chris Remer, gave the presentation.
Lucier-Hoyt said that the goal of the group was to develop a consensus position with a preferred direction for addressing the district's long-term needs. They developed recommendations to the board based on information presented from a number of sources.
The task force studied projected enrollment and population growth, the capacity and capabilities of existing facilities, options for grade alignment and space needs for each building as well as the district as a whole.
