Polkafest to be held at Park Ballroom this weekend

This Friday, Aug. 20, through Sunday, Aug. 22, a Polkafest will be held at the New Prague Park Ballroom.

There will be three days of bands and dancing at the annual event, organized by area members of the Polka Lovers Klub of America (POLK of A). The national organization has 11 chapters and about 4,000 members.

Among the bands playing at the event will be Karl & the Country Dutchmen on Friday from 7-11 p.m. On Saturday Musical Brass will play from noon to 4 p.m., the Rhythm Playboys from 4-6 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. and Julie Lee & the White Rose Band will play from 6-8 p.m.
