Queen of Peace to offer Express Care service

Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague is introducing Queen of Peace Express Care.

The new urgent care-type service will be located inside the new Coborn's Superstore on the east side of town at 200 Alton Ave. SE. The center will hold a grand opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, the same day Coborn's opens to the public.

Staff working in Queen of Peace Express Care will be able to treat a variety of non-emergency illnesses and health issues, including abrasions, allergies, bladder infections, bronchitis, fever, pink eye and styes, mononucleosis, minor rashes, respiratory infections, sinus infections and strep throat. Also if patients come in with acute medical emergencies, they will be immediately transferred to the Emergency Department at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

The center will be open weekdays from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Since it's a walk-in clinic, appointments won't be necessary. Also, with a pharmacy located closeby, residents may have their prescriptions filled as well.

People can access after-hours and weekend care at affordable prices in a convenient location
