Race is on in city and school board elections

The filing period for the election of local offices (TCU School Board and Montgomery City Council) ended Tuesday, Aug. 16, and races exist for many of the seats on both government bodies. 

 

School Board

Nine people have filed for three seats on the Tri-City United School Board. In the race are candidates from all of TCU’s cities: (Montgomery) Ashley Rosival, Josh Beulke, Cindy Flicek; (Le Center) Krista Goettl, Kevin Huber (incumbent), Joe Schloesser, Anne Schroeder; (Kilkenny) Michael Ream; (Lonsdale) Rosalind "Roz" Carson.

 

City Council

The Montgomery City Council also had several people file for council seats and mayor position.

The mayor ticket will feature a race between Josh Gare and John Grimm.

For the City Council, Bob Forcelle, and incumbents Dennis Lambrecht and Bob Taraba have filed for two of the council’s four-year seats.

Brad “Butch” Kubes has also filed for a special two-year council seat held by Lambrecht who was appointed to the position last year through December, 2016. If elected, Kubes would hold the seat for 2017 and 2018.

The general election for all of the races is Tuesday, Nov. 8.
