Ralph Rynda, 78

Ralph A. Rynda, 78, New Prague, died at his home on Monday morning, August 25, 2008.

Ralph was born on May 31, 1930 in New Prague to Lionel A. and Lillian M. (Bazil) Rynda. He attended St. Wenceslaus School, New Prague High School, St. Thomas College and the Minnesota School of Business.

On November 17, 1953, he married Elizabeth Ann Jasan in Lonsdale.

A lifelong New Prague resident, Ralph owned and operated Rynda Hardware in New Prague for more than 40 years.

Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army from October 11, 1951 to September 24, 1953 in the Korean War, achieving the ranking of corporal.

He was a member of the New Prague VFW and American Legion Clubs, the New Prague Golf Club, the Montgomery Sportsmens Club, the New Prague Park Board, the New Prague Chamber of Commerce, and the Minnesota Hardware Association.

Surviving Ralph are his wife; daughters Mary E. (Rick) Krenik, Kilkenny, Joan R. (Ron) Gunderson, New Prague, Jean M. Rynda, Rochester; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Robert Rynda, and sister Alice Gustafson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 28, starting at 9 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Father Kevin Clinton officiating the service that will also include military rites. Rick Krenik served as the urnbearer.

Arrangements were made with Bruzek Funeral Home, New Prague.
