Raymond Geis, 74
Raymond Bud Geis, 74, of Jordan, died on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
He was born Nov. 17, 1935, in Spring Lake Township, a son of Raymond and Philomena (Krautkremer) Geis. He married LaVerne Dorn on June 14, 1958, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Savage. Bud took great pride in operating his farm. He enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, fishing, deer hunting, playing cards, the Vikings and road trips to the casino. Bud was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; children Dawn (Paul) Tuttle, Henderson, Michael (Jayne) Geis, Apple Valley and Daniel Geis, Jordan; four grandchildren Jessica (Matt) Schaefer, Amy (Ryan) Hansen, Andrew Geis and Emily Geis; and one great-granddaughter Lucy Schaefer; brothers Vernon (Bunny) Geis, Prior Lake and Leon (Bonnie) Geis, Kansas; sisters Darlene (LeRoy) Zaun, Shakopee, Mary (Fred) Krueger, Shakopee and Lois (Craig) Kocon, Prior Lake; and brother-in-law Jim (Mary) Kersting, St. Paul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Joan Kersting.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Jordan. Pallbearers were Andrew Geis, Emily Geis, Amy Hansen, Jessica Schaefer, Kelly Dorn and Tim McLaughlin.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan, and also one hour prior to the service at church.
