Recount confirms Ryan wins council race
The City of New Prague completed a hand recount of votes from the November 2 city council election.
The recount confirmed that Shawn Ryan finished second in the voting and will get one of two seats on the New Prague City Council. The tallies showed he had received 995 votes, while Pat Scripture had 982. The reported totals on election night had 995 for Ryan and 983 for Scripture.
Ryan and leading vote getter David Bruzek will join the council in January, along with mayor-elect Chuck Nickolay.
