Seemingly everyone makes New Year's resolutions. Whether one resolves to lose weight, get organized, spend more time with family or start a new hobby.
Voters in Minnesota and the United States are facing an important election season as the nation prepares to choose a president, one-third of the Senate and every member of Congress; and a state election where every member of the House and Senate will be up for election once a judicial panel finalizes a redistricting plan.
During this election season, voters need to make a few resolutions of their own as they prepare to choose new leaders:
Resolve to not follow a party's candidate blindly. Both Republicans and Democrats nominate some very qualified-and some not-so-qualified candidates in the election.
