The 121st annual Firemen's Dance and Drill was held Saturday, April 18, at the New Prague Park Ballroom. During the event firefighters Bruce Rynda, Randy Busch and Ron Busch were recognized on their retirements.
Mayor W.A. Bink Bender noted it was unusual since all three were also members of the drill team.
Randy Busch served the volunteer fire department for 23 years, his brother Ron served for 21 years and Rynda served for 20 years. All three were on the drill team for 17 years.
Mayor Bender noted personal aspects of each man and how they had helped on the fire department. He and Fire Chief Jim Becker recognized the men for all the time they have given to the city and the department. All work in the community and answered calls when the department was needed.
Being a fireman is a real commitment
