Richard Nickolay, 56

Richard J. Nickolay, 56, of Shakopee, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Born June 15, 1951 at New Prague, Richard was a son of Francis and Lorraine (Shimota) Nickolay. Born and raised in New Prague, he attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School, New Prague High School and Pipestone Vocational School for auto mechanics. He was a mechanic for the City of New Prague and a member of the New Prague Sportsmen's Club and Catholic Workman.

He is survived by children Amy (Tim) Lemke, Union Hill, Kevin (Stephanie) Nickolay, Montgomery, Brian and fiance Brittany Chambers, Montana and Stacey Nickolay, Mankato; his father Francis J. Nickolay, New Prague; brothers and sisters David (Sharon) Nickolay, Chanhassen, Don (LuAnn) Nickolay, Elko, Susan (Mogens) Dantoft, Burnsville, Carol (Jim) Pukay, Richfield, Francis Tony (Lisa) Nickolay, Minnetonka and Robert Nickolay, Edina; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, with Rev. Kevin Clinton officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague. Pallbearers were David Nickolay, Don Nickolay, Tony Nickolay, Robert Nickolay, Bob Bohnsack, Jon Nickolay and Brandon Nickolay.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with a parish rosary held at 7 p.m. Friday.
