Robert Mannie, 82
Robert E. Mannie, 82, of Jordan, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at his daughter's home in rural Jordan.
Born in Minneapolis on March 17, 1929, Robert was a son of Edwin and Marjorie (Nolte) Mannie. He married Phyllis Stage on February 3, 1951. They lived in Minneapolis before moving to New Market where they raised their family. He had been employed with Northwest Airlines and later Allied Aviation Fueling at the Twin Cities Airport. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and traveling with their motor home. He loved feeding the birds, listening to Neil Diamond and watching John Wayne movies.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; children Lori (Norm) Pint, New Prague, Robert (Monica Schuette) Mannie, Jordan, Michael (Shannon) Mannie, New Prague, and Cathy (Marvin) Kes, Jordan; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Beverly Pertinen.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m., at the Wagner Funeral Home of Belle Plaine, with the Rev. Joseph Thunker officiating.
Burial was at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Pallbearers were Elliot Pint, Jonathan Simon, Michael Mannie, Nathan Mannie, Bryan Kes and Jacob Bastyr.
