Robert Sullivan, 79
Robert Joseph Sullivan, 79, of Le Center, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2012.
Robert was born on February 12, 1933, in St. Thomas, to Gerald and L o r e t t a (Feeney) Sullivan. He attended Country school in New Prague, then served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Robert married Iris (Sindelar) Sullivan on November 5, 1955, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. A Derrynane Township farmer all of his life, Robert was also a member of the St. Thomas Sportsmen, American Legion, VFW and Knights of Columbus. He was also a trustee for St. Thomas Catholic Church, Towns Clerk, and ASCS County Committee member. He enjoyed fishing, St. Patrick 's Day celebrations, gathering with friends at the local eye ball saloon.
Robert is survived by his wife; children; Pat (Margaret) Sullivan, New Prague, Deb (Tom) Pedric, Bloomington, Punky (Arnie) Simon, New Prague, Mike (Cindy) Sullivan, Alabama, Todd (Peggy) Sullivan, St. Thomas, and Shannon (Craig) Ault, Eden Prairie; 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; siblings Patsy (Dick) Erkel, Olympia, W.A., Catherine (Jerry) Retka, St. Thomas, Dotsy (Dave) Dulas, Bloomington, Mary (Bill) Brodt, Lakeville, and Geraldine (Art) Collamore, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gertrude Kriha, brothers-in-law Russell Sindelar, Paul Seama, Jimmy Kriha, Hank Schleeter and Rob Babione; niece, Ann Marie; and father and mother-in-law Stanley and Marcella Sindelar.
Visitation was held at Le Center Funeral Home in Le Center on Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. T
he funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery in St. Thomas following the services.
Military Honors will be provided by Le Center Area Honor Guard.
