Robert Trinka Sr., 80

Robert G. Trinka Sr., 80, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at his home. Robert was born on October 8, 1932, in Faribault, a son of James and Bessie (Hruska) Trinka. He served in the United States Army, and married Betty Shetka on December 24, 1953, at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery. He was a truck driver for Bryan Rock, and was also a farmer. Robert was a member of the VFW and American Legion posts. He enjoyed fixing things, fishing, smoking fish and listening to country western music. He wrote music, sang to his grandchildren, and also played the guitar and accordion. He is survived by his wife; children Linda (Adrian) Herrera, Montgomery, Robert G. (Becky) Trinka Jr., Hastings, and Peggy (Creagg) Steinhouse, Lonsdale; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m., at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Burial was at Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery, with military honors provided by the Montgomery Area Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schoenbauer Funeral Home, and on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
