Robert Tuma, 64

Robert Raymond Tuma, 64, of Montgomery, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Robert was born in New Prague on June 27, 1943, a son of Raymond and Lorraine (Schwichtenberg) Tuma. He attended Montgomery High School and served in the United States Army from March 30, 1965, to December 3, 1965. He married Maureen Fitzpatrick on November 4, 1967, at Shieldsville. A lifelong resident of Montgomery, he was a farmer and mechanic. Bob was a member of the Monty Snowbusters Snowmobile Club, the Le Center American Legion and the National Truck Pullers Association. He enjoyed farming and being a mechanic.

He is survived by his wife; three sons Robert (Lisa) Tuma, Montgomery, Christopher (Ann) Tuma, Mantorville and Scott Tuma, Montgomery; a brother Roger (Emily) Tuma, Montgomery; three sisters Marge Smith, Austin, Nancy Tuma, Coon Rapids and Linda Mischer, Mankato; and six grandchildren Devon, Carter, Reese, Molly, Rachel and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 4 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, with Rev. David Barrett officiating and military honors provided by the Le Center Area Veteran's Honor Guard.

Pallbearers were Rusty, Nancy, Jeremy, Bill, Pat and Emily Tiede, Andy Kucera, Dean Holicky, Ron Tuma, Dean Winters and Jeff Gueningsman.

Visitation was held Wednesday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery.
