Robert W. Senkyr, 72

Robert W. Senkyr, 72, of Silver Lake and formerly of Waverly and Minneapolis died on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at Hutchinson Area Health Care.

He was born in New Prague on February 19, 1932, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Kadrilik) Senkyr. Robert was a 1950 graduate of New Prague High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

On May 11, 1957, he married Guadalupe Rodriguez in Mason City, IA. He was employed for many years as a commercial spray painter.

Robert is survived by his fiancee and best friend, Billie Arnold; children, William (Susan) and Robert (Veronica) Senkyr, Elizabeth (Grant) Benson, Starr (Thomas) van Keuren and Alycia Senkyr; grandchildren, Joey, Lenny, Kenny, Paul and Pam; Robbie and Jessica; Christopher, Nicholas, Ryan, Lauren and Natalie; Tyler and David; Michael and Matthew; grandsons on loan, Stefan, Adam and James; great-grandchildren, Sophia; Chelsie, Ben and Kylie; Carlos and Jaimeson; Pablo, Malia and Nina; sisters, Dorothy and Lorraine Neisen and other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe, on September 7, 2000; parents; brothers, George and Joseph; sisters, Marie Brokl and Lucille Tuma.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, at The Church of St. Mary in Waverly. with the Rev. Robert J. Mraz officiating.

Pallbearers were Joey and Robbie Senkyr, Michael Green, Christopher, Nicholas and Ryan Vail. Honorary pallbearer was Tyler van Keuren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday evening at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Further visitation was held at the church on Thursday morning one hour prior to Mass.

Interment with military rites followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
