Ronald Dorshak, 78

Ronald L. Dorshak, 78, of Montgomery, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Mayo Clinic Health System Hospital in New Prague. A memorial service will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the church. Private family interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Montgomery.
 
Ron was born on September 23, 1938, to Edward and Marie (Fochs) Dorshak in Schofield, WI. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Michigan City, IN. He attended St. Olaf College in Northfield. 
 
Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force stationed at Thule, Greenland, Baffin Island, and Duluth where he met his future bride. Ron was united in marriage to Nancy Novotny on September 17, 1960, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. He worked for Citizens State Bank and Frandsen Bank and Trust in Montgomery for more than 25 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 79.
 
Ron enjoyed working outdoors and in his workshop. He was an avid Cubs fan, but most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and helping others. 
 
Ron is survived by his wife, Nancy of Montgomery; children, Deborah (Douglas) Enrooth of New Prague, Ron (Julie) Dorshak of New Prague, Mark Dorshak of St. Paul, Michael (Sandra) Dorshak of Savage, and Catherine (Scott) Fischer of Kilkenny; seven grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua Dorshak, Ronald and Rebecca Enrooth, Brandon and Kayla Dorshak, and Michael Fischer; siblings, Jean Crosley of Michigan City, IN, and Joyce (Terry) Noveroske of San Antonio, TX; sisters- and brothers-in-law; Yvonne (Dave) Swanson, Carole Hiniker, Kathleen (Greg) Malecha, and Peggy (Bob) Heuer.
 
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Raymond, Robert and Roger Dorshak.  
 
Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Honor Guard.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
