New Prague Area Schools Superintendent Jim Rouse will leave his job at the end of the 2007-08 school year, he announced Tuesday.
Rouse submitted a letter of resignation to the school board at its meeting Tuesday evening, Dec. 11.
In the letter, Rouse said that in his short tenure in New Prague he has worked to achieve each of the goals the board had given him, most importantly passing an operating levy referendum last month.
Rouse began his two-year tenure at New Prague in September 2005 when he was hired as interim superintendent on a 4-3 vote. Within five months, the board voted unanimously to remove the interim from his title, and he signed a one-year contract through June 2008.
Board members discussed the process to replace Rouse. The consensus was to go it alone
