Ruth H. Gaertner, 91
Ruth H. Gaertner, 91, of New Prague, formerly of Northfield, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at her home.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Northfield, with Rev. Craig Ellingboe officiating. There is no visitation. Private interment will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Northfield.
Ruth was born February 26, 1915 in Milwaukee, WI, a daughter of Sorn and Hannah (Brandt) Christopher. She attended Milwaukee Public Schools and graduated from Riverside High School. Ruth Christopher and Raymond W. Gaertner were married on September 18, 1937 in Milwaukee. She was a homemaker and a school crossing guard in Milwaukee. She lived in Michigan before moving to Northfield in about 1983. Ruth was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Northfield.
She is survived by one daughter, Christine M. Haack, New Prague; a sister, Margaret Koss, West Bend, WI; two grandchildren, Randolph (Jeanne) Haack and Rebecca (Greg) Ott; and four great-grandchildren, Carissa, Megan, David and Ben Ott.
She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1987; her parents; a son-in-law, Raymond C. Haack; two brothers, Harold and Clyde Christopher; and a sister, Eva Densow.
Arrangements are with the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
