Rutt loses in quarterfinals, Simonette eliminated

One Tri-City United wrestler is still alive in the consolation round following second round competition Friday afternoon at the State Class AA Wrestling meet in St. Paul. 
Mason Rutt (33-7) lost 7-5 to Greg Kerkvliet of Simley at 170 pounds and will compete in the wrestlebacks starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday. His opponent will be Brenan Peralta (27-12) of Thief River Falls. 
The other Titan wrestler in the tournament, Jordan Simonette (30-8), was eliminated at 195 pounds when his first round opponent lost in the quarterfinals.
