Rybak picked to replace Robischon

About 30 minutes after the New Prague Area School Board accepted his resignation as the district's director of operations, the board appointed Tim Rybak to an open seat on the district's board of directors.
Rybak has accepted a position with the Elk River school district, and will leave the district as an employee on December 20. On January 10, he will rejoin the district, assuming the board seat being vacated by Trista Robischon, whose resignation was approved by the board at the meeting. Robischon, who was elected in 2009 and assumed office in January, resigned anticipating a move to Iowa, where her husband has accepted a job.
Board chair Jerry Walerius suggested Rybak as a possible replacement, saying he was familiar with the workings of the district and would be able to step right in and contribute. Two other board members said they had been approached by others interested in the position. Don Dvorak said former board member Tom Fadden was interested and Larry Pint said that Daryl Bauer, who ran for the board in 2007, expressed an interest.
A motion to appoint Rybak was made and seconded, and the board unanimously approved the motion. Rybak will serve for one year, with the final two years of Robischon's term to be filled in a special election in November.
