Sarah Harty, 80

Sarah J. Harty, 80, of Edina, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Sarah was born August 9, 1927, at Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Mullaney) Meyers. She attended Sioux City Public Schools and graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul with an art major, later receiving an education degree. Sarah worked in sales at JCPenney and Brauns at Southdale and was a member of the St. Catherine's Alumni Association.

She is survived by children John (Elaine) Harty, New Prague and Susan (Roger) Kuick, Menominee, WI; three grandchildren Daniel, Gretchen and Kyle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister Elizabeth Ann Austin.

Private family services were held Thursday, June 26, at 4 p.m., at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague, with Rev. Richard Hogan officiating.

Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in New Prague.

Visitation was held for one hour prior to the service.
