School Board sets levy for 2009

The New Prague Area School Board set the 2008-payable 2009 property tax levy at $10,089,636.94 during its regular meeting Tuesday, Dec. 9.

The amount is unchanged from the proposed levy it approved in September. District Finance Director Dan Pyan said the levy represented an increase of 6.53 percent from the previous year.

Earlier in the meeting, the board approved a resolution setting a goal of increasing the district's unreserved fund balance over the next five years.
