Scott Co. Historial Society scheduling guided tours for Smithsonian exhibit

Calling all youth groups, Red Hat societies, day camps, church groups, 4H… The Smithsonian exhibit Key Ingredients: America by Food will be at the Scott County Historical Society for five weeks beginning July 5. Groups interested in seeing this exhibit should call early for a tour time.

Specially trained guides will lead groups through this exhibit. The Scott County Historical Society is the first site, and only metro site, to host this exhibit in Minnesota.

Admission is free. Tours may be scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, July 5 through August 8, by calling Jada Hansen, Associate Curator at 952-445-0378, or jhansen@scottcountyhistory.org

The Scott County Historical Society Museum is at 235 Fuller Street South in Shakopee, three blocks south of the intersection of Hwy 101 and Fuller Street.

The food on the American table may not define exactly what we are as a nation, but the traditions surrounding our foods speak volumes about who we are. Key Ingredients: America by Food, delves into the historical, regional and social traditions that merge in everyday meals and celebrations of the American table.

Key Ingredients is a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institute Museum on Main Street and the Minnesota Humanities Commission.
