Scott Co. plans flu shot clinic Nov.9

Scott County Public Health has made arrangements to have a flu shot clinic for high risk individuals. The clinic is being provided by Minnesota Visiting Nurses’ Association, MVNA, and will be held at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, 13760 McKenna Road, Prior Lake, on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This clinic is available only for persons in the following high risk categories:

• Anyone nine years of age or older with any of the following conditions: Heart disease; metabolic disease including diabetes; kidney disease; lung disease including asthma; abnormal blood disease; or immunosuppression

• Children 9 - 18-years-old on long term aspirin therapy

• Pregnant women

• Adults aged 65 years and older

There is a cost of $16 for those not covered by Medicare. Medicare Part B covers the cost of the flu shot. Bring your Medicare card, any voucher, and any insurance card. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent present. Children under the age of nine will not be served at this clinic.

Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church is located on McKenna Road, north of Highway 42, between County Road 83 (Canterbury Road) to the west and County Road 18 to the east, in Prior Lake. Enter by the main entrance off the parking lot.
