Scott County Sheriff’s Office’s offers ‘Season’s Greetings’ card design contest

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is searching for creative kids to help design the artwork for its 2017 “Season’s Greetings” Card. The winning entry will be used on the front of the Sheriff’s Office’s greeting cards which are mailed in December primarily to agency partners, sponsors and various officials.

Scott County residents/students ages 12 and under may submit original artwork to the “2017 ‘Season’s Greetings’ Card Design Contest.”

The original artwork should have a winter-themed picture incorporating the Scott County Sheriff’s Office in some way (i.e. snowmen, recreational safety, ice fishing, drinking hot cocoa, winter sports, snowflakes, penguins, mittens/hats, snowscapes, sledding, gingerbread cookies, ice skating, etc.). Feel free to incorporate the Sheriff star and/or badge.

The design should portray positive police and community relationships.

“We want children to understand that we are committed to their well-being, safety and security; our job is so much more than writing tickets and arresting people,” a press release on the contest states.

Artwork should be a minimum size of 5x7 inches up to a maximum size of 8.5x11 inches. Both horizontal and vertical formats will be accepted.

Artwork must be original, entirely the work of the entrant and not in violation of any copyrights.
