Senate recount goes smoothly in Scott County

Chuck Kajer, Managing Editor

The precinct-by-precinct recount of nearly 3 million votes in the U.S. Senate race ended last week, with Scott County one of the last to complete its portion of the recount.

Scott, Wright and Winona counties were the last three to finish counting, with Scott County starting on Wednesday, Dec. 3, and finishing on Thursday afternoon. About 62 percent of the ballots were counted on the first day by six teams of judges, along with observers from each of the campaigns at each table.

Everything seems amicable and it's going well
