Sept. 10 Fundraiser will benefit Lonsdale woman battling cancer

Friends and family of Molly Kennedy Feehan of Lonsdale are hosting a Green Spaghetti Fundraiser at Brewster's Bar and Grill in Veseli from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. All proceeds from the event will be used for expenses in her battle of cancer.

Feehan is the owner of Video Creations in Lonsdale and has a daughter, Meghan, who will be a senior at Minnesota State University, Mankato this fall. Molly has been fighting the disease for the past one and-a-half years. She was diagnosed in May, 2005, with advanced stages of rectal cancer.

She began an intensive treatment of radiation and chemotherapy and in September, doctors proclaimed the tumor had dissipated. In March of this year, it was discovered the tumor had grown back and had spread into some of the major organs. Doctors at the University of Minnesota undertook a drastic, complicated surgery in May, in which they had to remove everything below the bladder, including all organs and the reproductive system. Feehan has recently begun another round of chemotherapy and radiation that is expected to last six months.
