Shetka named to Coaches Hall of Fame
The late Matt Shetka is one of six people to be named to the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, it was announced Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Shetka, who died of a heart attack in December, 2012, was a longtime gymnastics and girls golf coach at New Prague High School, leading his teams to three state championships in gymnastics and two in girls golf during his career.
Shetka is already a member of the Gymnastics Coaches Hall of Fame. His latest honor is by the association that represents coaches of all sports. Induction will be Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Crown Plaza Riverfront Hotel in St. Paul.
