Shining on Family Fun Night at Holy Trinity
By Patrick Fisher, Staff Writer
Sonshine Christian Preschool's Family Fun Night lived up to its name as children and their parents enjoyed the various activities during the Friday, April 13, event at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague.
The Art Extravaganza and Scavenger Hunt had many children searching for the hidden items. When found, the youngsters received a stamp on a card. The art also brought enthusiastic responses, as children showed their parents what they had made during school.
The various animals presented by Melissa Pastika of Rad's Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo from Owatonna had various responses. The turtles, lizards and the amphibians brought smiles and some laughter. The American alligator and snakes, especially Beatrice, a five-foot long Burmese python, caused the biggest reactions. Pastika explained what the animals eat, how they protect themselves and how big some of them can get.
