Six transported to Queen of Peace Hospital following two-vehicle crash

By Patrick Fisher

Six people were transported to Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague after a two-vehicle crash west of New Prague on Monday afternoon.

According to the State Highway Patrol the six people were all members of the same family. Five were treated and discharged to home and one was admitted. That person’s name and condition were not available from the hospital, due to HIPAA privacy laws. Names of the victims were not available from the State Patrol at press time.

The Highway Patrol said the family was westbound in a Chevy mini-van on Highway 19 at approximately 4:30 p.m. The vehicle stopped to make a left turn onto Le Sueur County Road 30 when the vehicle was rear ended by a Ford truck, causing the minivan to roll onto its side.

The New Prague Fire Department was called to the scene to help get three members of the family out of the mini-van. The New Prague Ambulance Service transported them to Queen of Peace Hospital.

Also on the scene were members of the New Prague Police Department and Scott and Le Sueur county sheriff’s departments.
