Skaters provide burst of 'Colors' and moves

The New Prague Area Figure Skating Club provided a reminder that spring is on the way with the theme of its annual Spring Show, Colors.

The show, held at the New Prague Area Community Center Saturday and Sunday, March 12 and 13, featured a rainbow of colorful music, costumes and incredible moves.

The show had skaters of various ages performing individual, small and large group pieces. For the first time, the club had head coaches Courtney Baga, Erin Swanson and Kelly Weber perform pieces. Baga and Swanson skated as individuals, while Weber did a duet with club member Charlie Murphy.

For the second year, the club had a performance by guest skater and Professional Skaters Association (PSA) Intern Coach - Cale Ambroz. Son of Chuck and Cindy Ambroz of Webster, he is a past member of the club who has competed at the national level. The skaters astonished the crowd with various jumps and twirls, bringing cheers at times.

Another aspect of the show was a piece featuring children from the community center's Learn to Skate program. With club members they showed what they have learned.
