Sno-Bowl set for Sunday
Organizers and players from the Sno-Bowl, New Prague's annual alumni football game, organized a food drive Saturday, Dec. 11, with proceeds going to the Peace Center food shelf.
Members were at Econofoods from 9 a.m.-noon collecting food and donations. The drive was a big success, with many people giving generous amounts of food and money.
The Sno-Bowl members collected 35 bags of groceries and more than $250 in donations during the drive.
A number of local businesses also contributed to the success of the food drive.
All New Prague High School alumni are welcome to play in the 44th annual Sno-Bowl, which will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Memorial Park.
The game features two teams, the Polars and the Ptarmigans, who battle every year for supremacy on the snow. This year's owners are: Polars- Eric Steinhoff, Pete Sticha and Jim Cavanaugh; Ptarmigans-Andy Tupy, Eric Pikal and Bob Connelly.

Last year's event was won by the Polars, 22-12. The Polars have a 24-14-6 advantage in the series.
