Snowstorm hits southern Minnesota
A March snowstorm started Sunday evening, closing schools and keeping much of the New Prague area at a standstill by Monday morning.
A total of 7-11 inches was forecast Sunday for the storm. By 9:30 a.m. Monday, the snowfall was already within that range with snow still falling and expected to end by early afternoon.
The New Prague Area Schools cancelled classes for Monday, and the school board meeting for Monday evening was also cancelled. The next meeting will be Monday, March 27.
Power was out in at least part of the city for a short time on Monday morning, but was back up before 8 a.m.
