There's a difference between having a job and a career.
Randy Shaver, sports anchor for KARE 11 TV, offered that advice to eighth-grade students at New Prague Middle School Friday, May 16. Shaver was the keynote speaker for the students' Career Day, a wrap-up to an advisory career unit where all eighth graders worked on basic career exploration.
In the middle school's auditorium, Shaver explained to the students if a person is going in to work and watching the clock, waiting for quitting time, it's a job. Anyone who enjoys what they do and doesn't worry about the time has a career. He has a career and still enjoys going in to work, meeting people and creating stories.
The bottom line is I put a lot of time into (work)
