St. Benedict tops Owatonna

Tyler Oakes and Andrew Huss each had two hits and Tanner Oakes threw a four-hit complete game as St. Benedict defeated Owatonna 3-2 in the opening game of the 2013 State Class C Baseball Tournament in Delano Friday, Aug. 16. The Saints advance to the round of 32 next Saturday, Aug. 24, when they will play Belle Plaine at 7:30 p.m. in Delano

Two other area teams play opening round games Sunday, Aug. 18. New Prague faces Springfield at noon in Maple Lake and Union Hill takes on Fairfax at 5 p.m. in Delano.
