Stanley Gliszinski, 87
Stanley Gliszinski, 87, of Texas, formerly of Le Center, died at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010.
Stanley was born on his home farm in Lexington Township on December 30, 1922, a son of Alex and Martha (Singer) Gliszinski. He attended country school in Cordova Township and was united in marriage to Virginia M. Sautter at St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny on August 21, 1952. Stanley was a farmer and also worked for Green Giant for 27 years. He and Virginia enjoyed spending winters in Texas, and he also enjoyed fishing, garage sales, flea markets, entertaining and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife; children Dave (Susan) Gliszinski, New Prague, Deb (Bob) Zvanovec, Lakeville and Sue (Nick) Arntz, Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren Andrew (Lisa) Zvanovec, Sadie Zvanovec, Holly and Eric Arntz and Daniel and Kaitlin Gliszinski; and a brother George Butch Gliszinski, Montgomery.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Le Center on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m.
Visitation was held at the church on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m.
Arrangements were with the Le Center Funeral Home.
