Stars stop Trojans' win streak at 5
New Prague opened its Missota Conference boys hockey season with a 6-1 loss to perennial power Holy Angels Saturday. The loss stopped a Trojan winning streak at five games and gives them a 6-2 record on the season.
Earlier in the week, New Prague defeated Waseca 11-2 and Delano 4-2.
New Prague will play at Northfield in a Missota Conference contest at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, then play at home against Shakopee at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29. The Trojans then have a week off before traveling to Litchfield for a 3 p.m. game Saturday, Jan. 5.
Trojans 11, Bluejays 2
New Prague scored five goals in each of the first two periods and easily defeated Waseca 11-2 Tuesday, Dec. 18.
The Trojans scored twice in the game's first minute, with Tyler Lapic and Schyler Adams finding the net. Seth Ambroz scored twice in the first period, and Tyler Lapic added his second goal before the Bluejays finally got on the scoreboard with a little more than a minute remaining.
Drew Feuk and Lapic scored in the first four minutes of the second period, and the Trojans' top line took the rest of the night off, while the second line didn't play at all in the third period. Feuk added another goal, and Zach Adams, Aaron Kes and Tyler Witty tallied goals as the Trojans won their fourth-straight game.
Collin Schoenecker stopped 12 of 14 shots as the Trojans outshot the Bluejays 36-14.

Trojans 4, Tigers 2
New Prague went to 6-1 on the season with a 4-2 win over Delano Thursday at New Prague.
After a scoreless first period, the Trojans scored twice in the opening minutes of the second. Kes scored on a Feuk assist at 1:20, and Schyler Adams scored, from Alec Doig and Darren Lapic, on the power play at 3:38.
The Tigers scored 23 second later to make it a 2-1 game, but Tyler Lapic added a goal at 7:44, and Schyler Adams scored at 14:38 The Tigers added another goal to make it 4-2.
New Prague outshot the Tigers 39-25, with Schoenecker stopping 23 shots to take the win.

Stars 6, Trojans 1
Early in the Trojans Missota Conference opener, the Trojans were whistled for a minor penalty, giving Holy Angels a 5-minute power play. The Stars would only score once on the power play, but then scored twice more in the next few minutes, to stake themselves a 3-0 lead as they defeated the Trojans 6-1.
The stars added one more in the second and two in the third before New Prague finally got on the board, with Zach Adams scoring on an assist from Kes.
The Stars outshot New Prague 31-22, with Schoenecker stopping 25 shots.
