Steave Vlasak, 65
Steave J. Vlasak, 65, of Montgomery, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at St. Francis R e g i o n a l Medical Center in Shakopee, after a battle with lung cancer. Steave was born December 27, 1946, in New Prague, a son of James and Ella (Pelant) Vlasak. He graduated from Montgomery-Lonsdale High School in 1964. Steave married Bonnie Schugg on February 17, 1968, in Prior Lake. He was a custodian for the Montgomery-Lonsdale Public School system for several years, and also worked on a dairy farm, at Jerome Foods and Seneca Foods as a seasonal combine driver. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, playing bingo and fishing. He is survived by children Jessie (Sherry) Vlasak, Ostrander, and Jennie (John) Coccia, Le Sueur; siblings Donna Friedges, Shakopee, Donald (Donna) Vlasak, Montgomery, Tom (Sandy) Vlasak, New Prague, Clayton (Pat) Vlasak, Dodge Center, Harry Vlasak, Montgomery, Jim Vlasak, Montgomery, Mary (Jim) Glende, Waterville, and Rick Vlasak, Faribault; sister-in-law Judy Brown, Dundas; and special friend Mary Foster, Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and brothers Roger, Norman and Joseph. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Visitation was held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and on Monday one hour prior to the services.
