Stephen Doyle, 75

Stephen Francis Doyle, 75, of Danbury, WI, formerly of Prior Lake, died unexpectedly at his residence.

Stephen was born on March 29, 1937, in Minneapolis, a son of Francis and Elizabeth (Heddle) Doyle. He grew up on the family farm and attended a oneroom school house, both in Cedar Lake Township. He then attended New Prague High School, where he participated in basketball, and graduated in 1955. Stephen was an over-the-road truck driver for 30 years and belonged to Teamster's Local #120. He married Kathy Kock on July 18, 1970, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Vail, IA. They later divorced. Stephen served in the United States Navy, with his tour of duty taking him to Quantanamo Bay. He loved driving his Arctic Cat snowmobiles and once completed the Winnipeg 500. Stephen enjoyed crossword puzzles, making homemade spicy pizzas and spending time with his friends.

He is survived by children Matt Doyle, Shakopee, Theresa (Craig) Burdorf, Arlington, and Tim Doyle, Shakopee, and their mother Kathy Doyle, New Prague; grandchildren Jackson and Parker Burdorf; siblings, Mary (Bill) Dillingham, Prior Lake, Frances (Dennis) Gonyea, Minnetonka, Bridget Doyle, Eagan, and Cathy (John) Pipkorn, Elko New Market; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Jan. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Prior Lake, with Rev. Orland Tatel officiating.

Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, with full military honors.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ballard- Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake, and one hour prior to the mass at church.
