Devotees of the Czech and Slovak heritage were well served Saturday at the 18th annual Miss Czech Slovak MN Pageant held in Montgomery.
The yearly event focuses on naming new state ambassadors of Czech, Slovak or Moravian heritage. This year two women displayed their talent, heritage and interview skills while they vied for the queen crown. Leah Sticha, daughter of Richard and Kathleen Ruhland of Montgomery and the late Roger Sticha, and Jessica Lambrecht, daughter of Vicki and Elmer Lambrecht Jr. of New Prague, were this year's two candidates.
After the competition that included interviews with judges before the pageant, a talent presentation, onstage interview and kroj judging, Sticha was crowned queen, and Lambrecht was crowned princess.
I'm very honored to represent all of my fellow Czechs. I'll do my best
