Stingy Trojan girls win two more

New Prague's girls hockey team continued its stingy ways last week, allowing just one goal in two games and raising its record to 8-1-1 with wins over Bloomington Jefferson and Red Wing.

Since allowing five goals in a loss to No. 1 Blake on November 20, the Trojans have allowed more than two goals just once. Goaltender Daedra Culshaw has registered three straight shutouts, and she and backup Shyler Sletta both have goals against averages of under 2.00.

New Prague was scheduled to host Prior Lake in a Missota Conference match Tuesday, Dec. 18. They will travel to Shakopee for a game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, and will play at Eagan at 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.

New Prague will face Maple Grove in the first round of the Cable 12 Tournament at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26. The tournament will be played at the New Hope Arena, with games at both the north and south rinks. The tournament continues Thursday and Friday, with games at 5 and 7 p.m. both nights.
