TCU FFA hosts Baby Animal Day

The Tri-City United High School FFA Chapter held its annual Baby Animal Day on Monday, May 9. Although Mother Nature's rainfall changed the plans for the hay rides through Montgomery late Monday morning, there was still lots to see and learn inside.

Held in the former Industrial Tech shop at the TCU Elementary and Middle School in Montgomery, the FFA's annual Baby Animal Day event is an opportunity for area youngsters to see, touch and learn about baby farm animals. Baby Animal Day runs until 2 p.m., Monday, May 9. Area students, day cares and families are invited to attend.

Included in the many animals exhibited are beef and dairy calves, chicks, goats, kittens, piglets, a pony, puppies, and rabbits. The animals are provided by the TCU Ag Science students, area farmers and families.

The TCU Elementary students from Lonsdale and Le Center also attend Baby Animal Day event. The students are bused to Montgomery courtesy of the TCU FFA Chapter with funds raised through the FFA Chapter's annual fruit sales.
