Tennis team concludes season

New Prague High School’s boys tennis season came to a close with the Section 2AA singles and doubles tournaments Thursday, May 25, at Mankato East High School.

New Prague sent two singles players and two doubles teams to the meet, and all four lost their first round matches and were eliminated.

Andy Kubes lost in singles to Craig Huang of Mankato East, 6-1, 7-5. Marty DeValk lost to Ryan Anderson of Mankato West 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Patrick Jeffrey and Matt Gillen lost to Mike Makie and Adam Johnson of New Ulm, 6-3, 6-1. Josh Meuwissen and Ben Dresow lost to Casey Whalen and John Rasmussen of Hutchinson 6-1, 6-2.

The Trojan tennis team finished its season with a 3-14 record, and was 2-5 in the Missota Conference.
