Tennis team hopes to build with core of returning seniors
Andrew Bernard is the fourth coach in as many years to head the New Prague High school boys tennis program.
Last year’s team struggled, as the squad had very little varsity experience. The team had an 0-16 record. Many of the varsity players were playing tennis for the first time. The only athletes receiving post-season honors were Gage Doehlert and Todd Krenik, both of whom earned honorable mention.
Doehlert has graduated, but Bernard says Krenik, along with fellow seniors Joe Busch and James Ryan, will provide the leadership to help the team improve.
The new coach will be assisted by Jeff Storlie. Liz Gunderson is he student manager.
We’ve got a youthful team with a great base for improvement
