Tennis team searches for win

The Titan Tennis Team is having a tough season, dropping its most recent matches to Jordan (5-2), United South Central (6-1), Blue Earth (5-2) and New Prague (7-0).

Coach Phil Murry said the girls really struggled in the game against USC but improved and played better against Jordan. He noted that TCU has been getting competitive in some of the recent contests, notably when they played Blue Earth Area and New Prague.

On Monday, Sept. 12, the Titans hosted their neighbors to the north, the New Prague Trojans in Le Center.  Titan Coach Phil Murry said while they lost the match, they were very competitive, especially at first three levels of singles play.

“We had leads in all of them but couldn’t hold on,” Murry said. “New Prague easily has the strongest doubles lineup that we have faced this year and it showed. They dominated from the start. We need to do a better job of finishing matches off when we get an early lead.”
